Iranian animation ‘Echo’ to compete at Chico Independent Film Festival

Iranian animation ‘Echo’ is to compete the 2020 Chico Independent filmfest in the US.

Iranian animation ‘Echo’ has been selected to compete at the 9th edition of the Chico Independent Film Festival (CIFF) in the US.

Directed by Barzan Rostami, the 7-minute animation will compete in the Best Animation Film category of the event.

The animation is about understanding and perception of wildlife and environmental abuse, as well as its consequences on the human race.

The film has been showcased at a number of global events, including the R.E.D International Film Festival in Norway, the Snake Alley Festival of Film in the US, and the International Tour Film Festival in Italy.

The film won an award for Best Short Film at the Southern Cone International Film Festival in Mexico. The 13th Smaragdni eco film festival in Croatia also honored the flick with its best animation award.

‘Echo’ also won the Best Sound Designing award at the 7th Pink City International Short Film Festival in India and the Special Jury Prize at the 18th biannual Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival in Poland.

The CIFF aims to inspire youth by hosting a wide range of films from various genres.

The event is slated for December 12, 2020.
